So me and :iconthesykotix:(from here on out known as the first guy) went to the State Fair on Friday night. We saw Dennis Deyoung. He was an asshole onstage. Big surprise. We met up wth :iconexplosivo2021: and his girlfriend. We had a good time. After he and his girlfriend left me and the first guy walked around for a while. This is where the story comes in. We were about to walk across the street when we saw a girl storming down it with a guy (most likely her boyfriend) in hot pursuit. She seemed to be quite angry about something. It was quite obvious to me and the first guy that he had been drinking, according to his slurred vocabulary and his shambling staggers. He was shouting "Kristin!" while she just quickened her pace. She went over and sat on a curb while her boyfriend joined his friend and another girl, both of whom looked like they had been drinking as well. The boyfriend also decided to yell to her that she could have good luck getting home, so we assumed he was driving. The first guy and I looked at her and asked each other if we should go over and ask her if she was alright. She looked very pretty, with long brown hair and a tight white t-shirt, the kind you ocassionally see on popular girls. She didn't really strike me as some regular popular shallow girl you generally see, and it for some reason made me respect her a little bit. Meanwhile the boyfriend and two others were walking down the road and stopped about 20 yards up from where she was, which obviously meant they wouldnt actually leave her there, which was honestly less comfortable to me than them just leaving her there, because I really didnt want to think about her riding home in a car full of drunk idiots. The boyfriend swaggered over and kept on shouting "Kristin", but she just ignored him until he actually bent over and screamed "KRISTIN!" in her face. Although it shouldn't have been, this was actually very funny(I guess you just had to be there.) He then walked away and back to the group. I very much wanted to go over and ask her if she was okay, but knowing that the boyfriend would most likely beat my ass in a drunken stupor, I decided against it and kept watching.

Here is how I imagine the conversation would have gone:
Me: Hey, are you okay?
Her: I'm fine, just leave me alone.
Me: Are you sure? It doesnt seem like you would be very safe continuing with them, especially in a car.
Her: Go the hell away!
Me: All right. Me and my friend are standing on that curb over there. If you end up deciding you'd like to get a ride home with us so you don't have to ride with a bunch of drunk people, just let me know.
Her: Go away!
Boyfriend: Hey maaaaan...that's my girlfriendddd...I'll teach you to *hic*-treat her like that...
(He continues on to beat the living hell out of me, as I am physically unable to even defend myself, let alone actually beat him.)

My story continues. The other girl in the group walked over and talked to her, and within 30 seconds Kristin rejoined the group. I was absolutely apalled. She then screamed at her boyfriend and shoved him a few times, then they walked off together. I couldnt believe what I had just seen. Me and the first guy walked away in silence, and I had some thoughts. Mostly about what would happen to those two. My best guess was this. They would go home and fight for a while, with him ending up slapping her in the face. They then continue on to have angry after-fight sex and live in false happiness for a while. They get married at a cheap "church" in Vegas, and go home and watch some terrible romance movie that he thinks will make her put out for the night, and they end up pregnant. He continues to beat her throughout the pregnancy and shortly after she has the baby another will be concieved. Again he continues to beat her throughout the pregnancy. After this baby is born there comes a bit of a period in which there is no feeling between them. Her because she is raising two small children alone, and him because he spends about 30 dollars every night on drinks down at the local bar with the rest of his drunkard "friends." He becomes an alcoholic, and this time comes home to beat his wife with some sort of blunt weapon and then continues to do the same to his two young children, because he is so drunk he thinks he is beating a couple of pillows. They end up getting a divorce, and he goes on to live a lonely life as a vagrant begging for pocket change for sandwiches at a diner. She realizes she can't support her children and leaves them at an orphanage. The children stay at the orphanage and learn nothing but what they can from the cruel reality of the streets, which fills them with nothing but distrust for all human beings and deep seated hatred for anything thet can't make a personal gain from.

Me and the first guy finally get a call from my mother and we get in the car and go. The first guy quickly falls asleep but I cant because I cant stop thinking about Kristin. I have so much pity for her. She deserves a good life. I've never even met her but I want her to be happy. Why would I care so much? I don't know. I then begin to realize that I will probably never see her again in my entire life. I begin to entertain thoughts of suicide because my life will not have a point if I do not see her again. These thoughts quickly subside, as I am smart enough to realize that they are foolish. But I would still like to see her again. I would give just about anything to have a half hour chat with her. If any of my friends became like the guy who was yelling at Kristin I will find some way to make them regret it. Farewell, Kristin. May we some day meet again.
